Miniature Poodle Dog Breed Information

The Miniature Poodle Dog Breed is one of the three common types of poodles that you can pick from.

There is a lot that goes into taking care of a Miniature Poodle – they require a lot of attention or else they won't be very happy. If you treat your poodle right, you'll have an amazing addition to the family that will be great with kids and visitors alike.

Let's look at the origins of Miniature Poodles and some of their personality traits that will help you decide if they will be a good addition to your household.

Poodle Puppies were first bred in Europe somewhere around the 1600's.

They are thought to originate from Germany, although many of the earliest records of Miniature Poodle Dogs come from France and Denmark. Eventually, Poodles were fairly widespread across this entire region, where they were used for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to: hunting, retrieval, circus performances, and hand warmers.

The Breed Miniature Poodle is basically Standard Poodles that have been bred for generations specifically for a smaller size.

The miniature poodle dog breed grows approximately 15 inches high, and can weigh up to 15 pounds when fully grown. As you can tell, the word miniature is not used lightly with these pooches – they're very small dogs.

They're one of the most easily recognizable dogs in the world, with thick, curly hair, limp ears, and long snouts. You should always take special care to keep your miniature poodle's hair groomed, even if you aren't keeping him for show purposes. Small Miniature Poodles are classy dogs that love to be pampered.

The reason it's so important to give your miniature poodle dog breed regular Poodle Grooming sessions is because their thick fur has a tendency to get matted and tangled if left untreated for too long.

It's a good rule of thumb to either groom the poodle yourself or take him to a professional groomer at least once a month. This will keep him clean, pretty, and happy.

There is a wide spectrum of hues that poodles can be, and their coats range between white, bluish, silver, brown, red, apricot, chocolate, cream, and Miniature Black Poodle. Usually, they will have a solid color across their entire coat.

The temperament of the miniature poodle dog breed is what makes them especially endearing. They're earnest and energetic, and have an extremely outgoing personality.

They're highly intelligent, and when you couple that with their seemingly limitless supply of energy, you realize why you need to consider your decision before opting to bring home a Miniature Poodle.

They require a tremendous amount of attention – You need to provide Regular Exercise For Your Dog every day so they don't get bored.

Before you bring your Breed Miniature Poodle around your children, as they can be aggressive if they're nervous.

Children sometimes have the tendency to hit back at a barking dog, so keep a Dog First Aid Kit handy, as well as some gauze for the kids if things get out of control.

Once they begin to get used to each other, the Miniature Poodle will be a steadfast, loyal guardian.
