The Chihuahua Dachshund is considered a designer hybrid breed. This mixed breed is a combination of a purebred Chihuahua breed and a purebred Dachshund breed.

For the Chihuahua Dachshund it is very common for it to take the trait of a long body such as the Dachshund purebred breed. They can have either long floppy ears like the Dachshund breed or perky ears like the Chihuahua breed but majority of the time they are most likely to have floppy ears.

This breed can live anywhere from 13 to 15 years long. A full-grown dog can weigh anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds. They are very sweet and wonderful lap dogs.

They require constant attention and love playing outdoors. They are really an easygoing breed who the majority of the time are happy and energetic. They are considered social butterflies.

If they are properly raised with children a Chihuahua Puppy can be ideal for families with children. Since they are a small breed, rough playing should not be done due to the fact that they can easily be injured.

They can be very shy and fearful of children if not introduced properly. This designer hybrid breed shows emotions of affection and love. They also are excellent companions. Like other Chihuahua breeds, the Chihuahua-Dachshund loves to snuggle underneath covers or anywhere they can stay warm.

Usually the head of the this mixed breed is very small and the nose is black or brown majority of the time. Their eyes are usually large their eye color can range from green, brown and black. They come in various colors such as black, strawberry blond, chocolate, brown, white and black with tan markings.

The Chihuahua Dachshunds tail is very long and when wagging their body wags along too. The Chihuahua Dachshund’s coat can range anywhere from medium length to short with a glossy look and a silky texture.

As far as Daily Care For Your Dog grooming the Chihuahua Dachshund requires very little and just occasional brushing.

When raised in a family household they tend to listen and bond to one particular owner. Though feeding the breed doesn’t require a lot, they can be picky eaters and tend to get tired of the same Dog Food.

They are allergic to pollen and this can cause watering of the eyes. The breed needs to get Regular Exercise and be walked daily due to their energetic nature.

Due to their floppy ears, Your Dogs Ears will need consistent cleaning to avoid infection.

They can suffer from knee complications also, which the cartilage can separate from the knee and move to the side. This situation can be resolved with surgery but is very expensive

If you have a Pregnant Chihuahua remember she can have a liter of 2 to 6 puppies. The Dachshund Chihuahua size can make it difficult and risky while giving birth and can result in death.

Overall these lovable “hot-dogs” are a great addition to any family with patience and commitment.
