Here is Some Dachshund Dog Information

The Dachshund dog is a fun and playful animal that loves constant attention.

This particular dog is very fond of social interaction and he in fact needs a lot of it constantly. Since the doxie is pretty intelligent, he will find mischievous ways to get into trouble if his social demands are not met. In fact, these dogs can actually become very moody or depressed when they feel like they are not loved.

The Dachshund Dog Breed have high amounts of energy, which makes them incredibility stubborn to play with. He is quite restless when it comes to chasing things and it would seem that a person could quickly become bored before the Dachshund would become tired of chasing a ball or any other lively animal.

It might not seem like it, but they are strong protectors of the household, some of them are even more aggressive to strangers and other Dogs than a Rottweiler is. However, this dog is not considered a danger to small children, as his temperament is quite friendly as opposed to the Boxer or the Rottweiler.

The Dachshund dog has an utterly strong jaw and this makes his bites absolutely vicious for a dog of its size. Dachshunds have a very loud bark and some of them can continually bark even throughout the night at random things and shadows. Dachshund Training is often called upon to stop their excessive barking. Though there are simply some Dachshunds that do not make a peep, it greatly depends on the dog's personality.

There have been several sources citing how the Dachshund is impossible to train because the dog is too stubborn. Yes, the dog is well known for his stubbornness, but the failure to Train a Dog is reflected upon the trainer and not the dog. Cats are considered stubborn, Dachshunds are not.

Dachshunds are very loyal dogs and once you become the alpha male, they will quickly obey you. This particular dog does not intentionally seek ways to misbehave like other breeds do, so once he realizes that he is not going to be able to get away with not being trained, he will quickly obey to any commands you ask him to do.

Health is a big concern for the Dachshund. The shape of their spine causes several genetic problems that must be carefully attended to. One of the most popular back problems is intervertebral disk disease, a degenerative disease that affects the spine. It can cause the dog severe amounts of pain at times due to the inflammation of the discs. Treatment usually consists of anti-inflammatory medicine and sometimes, in more extreme cases, surgery.

The best Dog First Aid for this disease is to prevent it from happening. Controlling the dogs weight is one of the best ways to help reduce the risk. Obese dog or dogs that exhibit it in hard and heavy impact exercise are more likely to obtain the disease.

This is why many people frown upon Dachshund racing sports, because most of these racing dogs will have extremely painful back problems.
