Doberman Pinscher Information

Unlike many other breeds, Doberman pinscher information and Doberman Pinscher History is extremely interesting.

These are some of the most intelligent dogs in the world, rated 5th out of all the other breeds, and are also considered the easiest dogs to train. Also unlike most other relatively modern breeds, the Doberman Pinscher wasn't formally created by a breeder, but rather by a man who simply needed a dog to protect him as he went about his dangerous job.

It's that origin story along with a lot of steotyping by the media that has led the loyal, friendly Doberman Pinscher to be portrayed as a vicious, sometimes ferocious dog that represents a danger to everyone around it.

The reality couldn't be any more different, and although Doberman Pinschers can be fierce when attacked or threatened, they're normally very mild, though energetic, dogs that are incredibly loyal to their owners.

Commonly known Doberman pinscher information has it as Doberman Pinscher Fact that the Doberman was originally bred specifically for protection purposes. The Doberman Pinscher Dog Breed originated in a small German town by the name of Apolda by a tax collector named Karl Dobermann.

Karl's job was relatively dangerous at the time, so he turned to the town pound for a guard dog that could accompany him on his collection route and keep him safe from thieves and bandits. By mixing together several breeds, notably the German Shepherd , the Weimaraner Information, the Greyhound, the German Pinscher, and several others, Karl was able to develop a fiercely intelligent breed that embodied all the traits he needed. Eventually this dog became very popular within the country and was affectionately named the Dobermann after Karl's death in 1894.

As far as Doberman pinscher information about their intelligence goes, it's widely accepted that Doberman Pinscher Dogs are extremely intelligent. Stanley Coren wrote a book entitled The Intelligence of Dogs in which he ranks all the known breeds by their intelligence, temperament, and ease of training. Doberman Pinschers are number 5 on the intelligence scale and number 1 for ease of training. Another study claimed that the Doberman is the most intelligent dog, but claims like that are hard to substantiate, and it's generally enough to say that the Doberman is one heck of a smart pooch.

Going back to the subject of aggression, most Doberman Pinscher Breed information out there would have you believe that Dobermans are inherently dangerous and very aggressive, but some studies showed that this wasn't necessarily the case.

It's very true that Dobermans are highly aggressive towards strangers, and in fact are one of the most aggressive breeds when it comes to people they don't know. However, when it comes to aggression towards their owners, Dobermans are actually one of the least aggressive breeds out there, proving that keeping a Doberman around a family is no more dangerous than owning a Chihuahua.

It just goes to show that as long as you take proper care of your dog, there's no reason to believe that any breed is inherently dangerous, despite what the media portrays. Proper care includes training, Dog First Aid, and good nutrition.
