My Dog has Bad Breath...

by Mary J
(Halifax, NS Canada)

My 7 1/2 year old female Cocker's breath smells like poop!

I had changed her food to Medi-Cal Gastro a few weeks ago because she had been throwing up bile during the day. I'm wondering if the change in food could be the cause?

She didn't have the problem with the previous food, Kirkland, and my 7 year old male Cocker's breath smells fine with the Kirkland brand.

I've ruled out her getting into the cat's litter box and also eating poop in the yard.

I'm now using a water additive for bad breath and mints for dogs as well as putting her back on her original food. Also, I'm using a slow feed bowl to keep her from eating too quickly and not digesting her food properly.

I've read that it could be caused by lung or kidney cancer.

Is this true?
